Hoard is an ongoing series which depicts our consumption and over-reliance of material objects alongside society’s vices, anxieties and social issues. Each piece is a semi-three dimensional acrylic painting featuring various discarded objects and clay figures. These objects serve as evidence of humanity’s existence and the clay figures or “critters” represent grotesque sub-human caricatures of man. With this series, I present a surreal visual commentary on man’s voracious appetite for objects and the adverse implications such an appetite can have on one’s self and society as a whole.
